Reflux Distillation Kit with Barnstead Electrothermal CM0250-CEX1 Heating Mantle (250mL)

Reflux apparatus allows for facile heating of a solution, but without the loss of solvent that would result from heating in an open vessel. In a reflux setup, solvent vapors are trapped by the condenser, and the concentration of reactants remains constant throughout the process.

This reflux distillation apparatus is supplied complete with a Barnstead Electrothermal CM0250-CEX1 heating mantle, a 250mL round-bottom boiling flask, a Kontes Snyder distillation column, an Allihn condenser (6-bulb) and a retort stand with clamps - as seen in photos.

The Snyder column could also be referred to as a dephlegmator, which is a specific kind of distillation column. It utilizes separate chambers to promote multiple condensations and vaporizations during the distillation process, leading to a more efficient separation of the mixture's components.
