Corning PYREX Clevenger-Type Volatile Oil Trap (5mL)

This Clevenger-type volatile oil trap is graduated to 5.0 mL in 0.1 mL increments and made of borosilicate glass. Ideal for distillation of oil that is lighter than water, such as essential oils. This distilling apparatus is also used to determine volatile oil in drugs by distillation of a weighed quantity of drug in contact with water. The condenser rests on top of the receiver. The receiver has a tube connecting the lower part below the scale with the top of the vapor tube to return excess water to the flask. There is a discharge stopcock below the return tube. Flask and receiver are connected by a Standard Taper 24/40 joint.

NOTE: The complete apparatus would consist of a round bottom flask, a finger type condenser and this trap/receiver. Round-bottom flask and finger condenser are not included but may be available at extra cost - please inquire.
